Water Trading Rules – Final Advice

A thumbnail of the cover of this publication

Date published: 8th October 2010

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has publicly released its final advice on the development of water trading rules to the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA).

The MDBA is responsible for preparing the new strategic plan for the integrated and sustainable management of water resources in the Murray-Darling Basin. This Basin Plan will contain water trading rules. In preparing these rules, the MDBA is required to obtain and have regard to the advice from the ACCC. The ACCC provided this advice to the MDBA in March 2010.

This release has been timed to coincide with the release by the MDBA of their guide to the proposed Basin Plan. For more information on the development of the Basin Plan, please visit the MDBA’s website at http://www.mdba.gov.au/basin_plan.
